 | 20th Anniversary Perspective: Retrospective on a Brief Visit
IPC has always been one of the best examples of what could be accomplished by an industry working together through its association. And, with 30 years of association management experience, I was always impressed with how CircuiTree co-founder Ray Rasmussen really got it.

 | 20th Anniversary Perspective: What’s Happening—2010: Part 2 – The Impact of Technology Roadmaps 1992 to 1997
The semiconductor industry was the first industry to embrace roadmapping. It saw the market erode due to Asian production and determined a need to define the status and future of the industry. Working under the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), a roadmap committee published the first semiconductor industry roadmap in 1992. The roadmap, titled the National Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (NTRS), now the International Technology Roadmap (ITRS) for Semiconductors, provided a 15-year outlook on the major trends of the semiconductor industry.

 | A Myopic View of the Past 20 Years of PCBs
When Chris Jorgensen gave me a call and asked me to reflect on industry changes during the past 20 years on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of CircuiTree, I agreed on the premise that my account would be anecdotal, personal, and colored by my myopic view of the world of PWBs.

 | 20 Years of Interconnect Defects
A great number of changes have taken place in our industry since CircuiTree was first published 20 years ago. We have seen a once-dominant North American PWB industry shrink to less than 12 percent of the world market. We have seen the emergence of China as the factory to the world. But what hasn’t changed much is the fact that PWBs can remain difficult to produce defect free.
