Yavne, Israel--Frontline PCB Solutions, a joint venture of Orbotech and Valor, purchased all assets of Prestim Ltd., with offices at Calne, Wiltshire, England.

Frontline purchased the assets of Prestim Ltd. as part of its strategic marketing plan to enter the field of process planning and sales quotation in the PCB industry.

"The main reason for the purchase was to strengthen our developed solutions with a field proven product, that will serve as the main engine, and gain significant time to market advantage," said Uri Feldman, president of Frontline Ltd.

Prestim, active for over fifteen years in the European market, features a cost-based process-planning engine, a knowledge-based rules engine enabling the automation of all quoting and planning processes and events at a factory, and a Web-based quotation software that seamlessly integrates with Frontline?s Genesis 2000 CAM and planning systems.

The Prestim facilities, now called Frontline UK, will serve as an R&D center, managed Chris Robinson, affiliate manager of Prestim noted, "Prestim?s years of experience led us to the conclusion that the ultimate solution for the market will be based on an integration of CAM, quoting and planning technologies.
